Coming home to the earth…
Do you love the earth but feel disconnected? Do you feel overwhelm, anxiety or despair in the face of climate change? Would you like to explore how you relate to yourself, others, and the earth? Are you seeking a sense of purpose but feel burnt out or lost? So many of us feel a longing to more deeply connect to nature. When we allow ourselves to slow down and connect to the land, we feel more regulated in our nervous systems and we have more awareness of our aliveness. As we come into closer connection to nature, we learn about reciprocity in relationships and how to live more ethically on the earth.
“We often forget that WE ARE NATURE. Nature is not something separate from us. So when we say that we have lost our connection to nature, we’ve lost our connection to ourselves.”
― Andy Goldsworthy
Exploring Connection With Ecotherapy
Many of us feel more grounded and regulated when we are outside. Together, we can use that connection as guidance for your journey inward and outward. Ecotherapy starts with that state of safety and connection and offers a more experiential approach to explore how you relate to yourself, your body, other beings, and the ecosystem as a whole. Ecotherapy is a bit like play. We don’t know where exactly it will go, but we trust the process of exploration.
Ecotherapy is particularly helpful for those who are looking for an alternative to traditional talk therapy. There are many ways we can utilize ecotherapy to deepen our connections. You may be a highly sensitive person and want to explore boundaries. You may experience eco-anxiety and eco-grief and the earth can help us hold and process our emotions. You may struggle to stay present and the cycles of the seasons can be an anchor in time and space.
I draw from ecotherapy, somatics, parts work, attachment-focused EMDR, and earth-based spirituality to help you reconnect to a sense of inner guidance. We build bridges of connection to your body, sense of self, relationships, and the earth.
“Listen. Are you breathing just a little and calling it a life?”
― Mary Oliver
